This event is for rising high school seniors of color and college admissions officers responsible for outreach to you and your admission. In recognition of the unique challenges facing students of color, during the college admissions process, the evening offers a unique experience for students of color to gain exposure to the nuanced admissions processes of colleges and universities that fit their abilities. College Conversations will expose you to more selective colleges and universities than you may not be familiar with, even though the schools are a better fit for their abilities and offer greater financial aid
The college application process is rife with confusion, anxiety, and misinformation. This extends from evaluating colleges to finding financial aid, to thinking about where you would find a strong “fit”. Unlike large all-inclusive college fairs, and pre-programmed slide presentations, the evening will give you an opportunity to talk one-on-one with Admissions Recruiters in a small, interactive environment and be exposed to financial aid and academic resources.

Your transformation from adolescent to young adult begins with choosing a college: refining your goals and interests, and making healthy, confident decisions about which colleges meet the needs of the unique individual that you are. College Conversations will give you insight into what the admissions process will require, and knowledge essential about getting admitted to the school of your choice. You will have the opportunity to talk with many of the very people, who eventually will read your admissions application.
